Aggregating my fills from Three-Sentence Ficathon 2024 now halfway into its runtime!

Etrian Odyssey IV
Logre, betrayal and loyalty
The guild leader had punched him to the ground and taken his drive blade from him, and Logre... didn't want to feel relieved. He hadn't wanted to betray Tharsis or the Medium, but he could not refuse Prince Baldur. But if forcibly stopped from helping the Empire any further - was that all right, did he have to get up again, was there anyone in the world he hadn't yet played false?

Fire Emblem 10
Skrimir/Ranulf, belly rubs
Skrimir was always Skrimir, and as headstrong and exhausting and unmanageable as that implied - but Ranulf had observed over the years that he was more comfortable being affectionate in beast form, and better at it, less tripped up by the subtleties of spoken language. Skrimir, lion-shape, rolled over onto his back and gave Ranulf a meaningful look. Ranulf, man-shape, sank his hands into Skrimir's soft belly fluff and stroked away, and watched his eyes drift closed in pleasure.

Vika/Leanne, mating rituals
Vika put special effort into learning how to dance for Leanne - the ravens' dance was an exultant, dangerous midair tumble, but that of the herons was earthbound, stately, chest-to-chest, with an amount of eye contact that Vika honestly found a little freaky. But it was Leanne's chest and they were Leanne's eyes, so hey, worth it.

Leanne's eyes, which crinkled with suppressed humor as she very soberly handed over the traditional heron courting gift: a bundle of sticks, "like promise... for nest."

Fire Emblem 16
Sylvain/Lorenz, sentimentality
With a fond and absent smile, Lorenz said, "Do you remember the first time you accepted my invitation to tea?"

"Yeah, I remember you gave me a fifteen-minute lecture on decorum - and don't argue, I timed you." Seeing Lorenz color faintly - indignation or embarrassment? - Sylvain reached for his hand and smiled back, adding, "We've both grown up some, huh?"

Pokemon
Akari/Volo, "Why'd you have to lead me on? / Why'd you have to twist the knife?"
She'd thought it meant something, how cheerfully he'd helped her even in her exile, his fox smile, the occasional absentminded hand on her shoulder when they looked at old inscriptions together. She'd thought, Now that Hisui is safe, maybe there are a few other mysteries Volo will help me solve, like....

But it was Arceus he wanted, Arceus only, not even Giratina coming in awful splendor to his summons, not even her.

"The mistakes I’ve made have become experience points / I wonder if I’ve evolved like you?"
"So uh... Ultra Space," he said to himself, sitting on the beach after it was all over, "what the fuck was that about?"

Golisopod cautiously ruffled his hair with one claw - the same way, on a different beach, years ago, he remembered scratching Wimpod's carapace - and he looked up in surprise.

"Okay, so maybe we try something different now."

"I eat boys like you for breakfast"
"Ooh, you're so tall," says Lusamine, with calculated sweetness, sweeping her eyes over the leader of Team Skull. Tall, yes, and stupid and bitter and needy - no substitute for what she's lost, but she'll get some use out of him. And he smirks at her like he thinks he stands a chance... oh, this could be fun.

Tales of Symphonia
Time-travel fix-it
A year of language study, a year fretting about speechcraft, months charting the best course through the temple - she can go back for five minutes, she can go back once - and Sheena is still sweating buckets when she stands before Volt, always has.

She says, "The one coming to you is a child, and she wishes you no harm," and as much other stuff as she can say before her vision goes black and she's dragged into another time.

Into a room where Kuchinawa is finishing a report to the Chief, and Corinne says, "Sheena, what's wrong?"

The Legend of Zelda
Sheik, smoke bomb
Zelda always had a good throwing arm. Sheik has a taste for drama. Impa watches her young charge practice pitching smoke bombs at marks on the floor with just enough force that they discharge, and shakes her head fondly.

Ganondorf/Zelda, arranged marriage
There were trade agreements, of course; there were water and pasturage rights; there was safe passage through the desert for certain Hylian convoys and there was the repatriation of certain Gerudo artifacts - and there was a tall proud man with a face like a hunting hawk, and next to all of that it was such a little thing that the Princess Zelda bind her only life to his.

They'd exchanged letters, before meeting; he'd damned her with the faint praise of finding her an interesting correspondent. In her reception chamber they looked each other over warily - until she saw something glint on the back of his hand, and before she could stop herself grabbed his wrist to look (anyway, they were going to be married, before long she'd be taking more liberties with him than this) - "Interesting," she said, over the mark of the Triforce, the first thing she knew they had in common, and looked up into her fiance's cryptic smile.

Final Fantasy VI
chocobos know best
"Maybe I've done evil things I don't remember," said Terra, while her chocobo politely ate greens out of her hand. "Maybe I was a force for bad," she said, and the chocobo laid its head alongside hers for neck scratches, which she absently provided.

Sabin said, "You're okay - if you had a single mean bone in your body, the birds would know."

Nobody was ever meant/ To remember or invent/ What he did with every cent. (Robert Frost)
The Blackjack was a business - it had paying customers, it had to provide those customers with certain amenities - Setzer must have a ledger somewhere, and some employee tasked with maintaining it. And yet every time he and Daryl made a night of it on land, thousands of gil simply melted away - and sure, she liked being shown a good time, and she liked the look on his face when she let him do it, but it did occasionally give her pause. "Darling," he'd say, throwing an arm around her waist, "that's just walking-around money."

an unconvincing disguise
"I happen to think it was a perfectly adequate disguise - I made it this far without getting knifed, didn't I?"

"Sheer dumb luck," said Celes, "because you're awful at this. You want people to think you're a hard case and yet you still go around speaking in cursive."
