another smattering of single drabbles
Apr. 2nd, 2019 10:21 pmFE Awakening: Some Miriel/Sully fluff; treat for
petitfours for the Multifandom Drabble Exchange:
Sully did knuckle push-ups on the floor of the women’s barracks. Miriel continued her studies.
“What’re you reading today?” Sully asked, shoving herself up once more, and down. Thirty-four, thirty-five…
“A treatise on oxidation and reduction.”
Thirty-seven. “What’s that?”
Miriel considered. “In practical terms, the rusting and fatigue of metal weapons can be considered a subset of these phenomena.”
Forty. “So can you rust-proof them?”
“Perhaps.”
“Hey, cool. Why don’t you” - forty-three - “read it aloud?” Forty-four. “I like hearing you say smart stuff.”
Miriel, watching the interplay of muscles in Sully’s back and shoulders, swallowed. “Apologies. I’ve lost my place.”
FFVI: Edgar and Locke gen; treat for
Healy for the Multifandom Drabble Exchange:
“You’ll never guess what I’ve been up to.”
Locke squinted at Edgar, and then groaned. “Tell me you didn’t bring back Gerad.” Edgar lounged back in his chair, grinning. “No. No. Gerad is the worst idea you ever had.”
“Ah, silly me, I forgot. You’re a ‘treasure hunter’ - of course you wouldn’t care about my exploits as a mere thief. I know you don’t care that I have a machine that grants entry into any standard safe -”
“Wait, really?”
Edgar leaned forward again, all levity evaporating. “Yeah, Locke.” He dropped his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “It’s called a drill.”
And more Edgar stuff for no reason, archiving here from Tumblr:
Locke stepped outside. Terra followed. Duncan and his students had clearly been gone a while, but Edgar had gone over every inch of the cottage and then announced, “My brother was here,” and he was kind of… vibrating. Let him have some privacy, right?
Instead there was a muffled whump and Edgar emerged, reeling, into the sunlight. He answered their stares with a rueful grin. “It’s nothing. I, uh…” He cleared his throat. “Walked into the door.” He laughed, and blotted his eyes, and at a gesture from Terra leaned down to let her heal the welt on his forehead.
