WIPs meme.
1. Untitled pre-FE9 Shinon-centric... thing... currently in dire need of a plot
Originally started as a flashback in the midst of a Shinon and Rolf fic. You know, for juxtaposition purposes! ...And then I remembered that Rolf bores me, and probably I don't have anything to say about their whole student-teacher thingummy that hasn't been ficced a thousand times before. WHICH LEAVES ME WITH THIS AWKWARD PLOTLESS CHUNK OF TEENAGER!SHINON!SNARLING THAT I'M NOT SURE WHETHER I SHOULD SALVAGE OR BURY
He should have left sooner. His daily shouting matches with his father had been escalating, and this morning the old man had taken a swing at him. He’d swung back, and in the stunned silence that followed he’d taken everything he could use from their miserable little house – some food, some money, his bow – and walked out.
And it felt good, hours afterward, even if he didn’t know where he was going. He had no plans, but he didn’t feel any need for them. Righteous wrath had some damn near magical properties. Kept you warm better than any fire.
2. The Stars of the Sea, rather-vaguely-positioned-on-the-timeline Nasir-centric ONE OF THOSE PRETENTIOUS RAMBLY THINGS I DO SOMETIMES
When he took to the seas, the Goldoan star charts he first sought to use were wrong. Still close – indeed, close enough that it made no real difference – but it made him wonder. Had Goldoa seen so little need to check her bearings in these past centuries that the guiding lights had moved on without her? And how far must the stars have truly moved, as distant as they were, to manifest even so small a discrepancy?
...So yeah. I have vague outlines for some other things (FE10 and FE8, mostly cracky and absurd) and I'm still trying to figure out what to do about that ToS AU. And on the ToS note, I found some really old terrible half-finished stuff transferred from my old computer - a wide assortment of Zelos-related nonsense and some "what, why do I have this fic about Regal and Kate, where the hell was this going. Who even remembers Kate." But. Man. I have not been feeling the creativity thing much this past year.

Date: 2010-09-30 02:05 am (UTC)Tellius canon seems to emphasize the sea so much more than the other FE continuities, what with the flood and that vast array of boat chapters in FE9. So I've had various random thoughts about Nasir and boats and the sea basically since I first played the game, and for want of any other ideas I'm finally trying to beat them into some kind of shape.
