3SF, final week
Feb. 16th, 2026 11:58 pm...I'm still Pretty Bored All the Time so I may keep poking through prompts for anything I want to do for a while - but with 3SF prompting formally over, here's my most recent batch.
Tellius, Shinon
"You gotta be shitting me," he says, and then again louder when everyone ignores him, "you gotta be shitting me."
So there's bandits, so there's people dumb enough to get burned out of their homes, so what - is it Shinon's problem some villagers are too scared to arm themselves or too broke for hired swords? And here's fucking Ike having baskets of supplies put together to take down to the survivors, as if people are supposed to have things they didn't take, as if that's what he stole a whole damn mercenary company for.
Tellius, Pelleas
He supposes this is weak of him, but Pelleas hoped, remotely, that Lady Almedha would still have some kind words for him. She might have said the time they spent together, the sufferings undertaken together, meant something; she might have offered assurances that he must be precious to somebody. But instead he sees her - lose interest and move away, her eyes refocusing on a higher goal, like a child abandoning a soft toy for the prospect of a real pet, something worthy of her love.
Emily Wilde series, Emily/Wendell
"Why did you think I followed you around for years doing you elaborate favors and hanging on your every word?"
"It could hardly have been for the pleasure of my company."
"Em, that is literally exactly why."
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold, "getting absolutely roasted by a small child" (so it's Bertrand&Chloe obviously)
After ninety-some years of just kinda hanging around waiting to die, Bertrand finds himself back where his sister's family used to live, and meets this guy who looks weirdly familiar, and nobody says the words "uncle" or "nephew" or (oh god) great-GREAT-nephew, but he doesn't really see a way out of getting invited to dinner at least.
The family's youngest daughter (Bertrand's third-great-niece? The hell?) is tiny, and as far as he can remember, looks exactly like the sister he left behind - and she doesn't say a word the whole time, hiding behind her other siblings.
Until she does say something, in a breathless rush: "Are you related to us, because if you're related to us, you need to be more interesting and less sad."
