Got more prompts, wrote some drabbles!
FE8, Rennac/L'Arachel, "adroit"
There's a clean, unshowy grace to the way L'Arachel manages her horse - and that's odd enough, because when is Her Highness unshowy about anything? Of course, half comes down to a well-trained animal (she had nothing to do with the training) who absolutely adores her (L'Arachel showers her in carrots). The rest is... what? Dexterity? Finesse? Keeping her seat while guiding a horse one-handed up a rocky defile while the other hand makes arcane gestures and her voice rings out in incantation - she's good. And it's actually - Rennac notes with unease and displeasure - sort of fun to watch.
ToS, Raine and Genis, "syrupy"
Raine made a note: Equal parts water, sugar, grated lemon zest. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool, then strain out lemon.
Genis tasted a spoonful of the mixture, and his dubious expression vanished at once. "Raine!" he said. "What happened to you? This actually - I mean, it isn't poison! We could put it in desserts or drinks or something. I'm proud of you, sis. You made a completely normal simple syrup."
"Of course I did," she said, rapping his hand with the spoon. No need to mention she'd been trying to make lemonade.
FFVI, Celes, "aromatic"
The trees were all heavy with flowers, and the scent made Celes cough. She was used to the smogs of Vector, the timber and machinery smell of an airship, a sharp salt breeze telling of something, far away, rotting off its bones. A battlefield. The battlefield of last week. A burnt house. Even Cid's greenhouse, once, long ago, had had above all the flat smell of the air filtration system. This profusion was not familiar. She touched a rosemary bush and caught its fragrance on her fingertip. She took her boots off in the dirt, and breathed that in too.
Ace Attorney, Fey sisters, "indulgent"
"Did you see the fish tank?" Maya says conspiratorially, plunking back down in the seat opposite her. Mia did, in fact, see the fish tank, the last time she went to the restroom. Mostly the restaurant's decor is dark wood and jewel tones, but then there's that big blue-lit column of water with its glittering school of -
Maya leans across the table. "They're not gonna serve us those fish, are they?"
"I can't imagine so," Mia says.
"Well, why not?" Maya huffs. "You just passed the bar! I think you should get to eat a tropical ecosystem, this once!"
Six of Crows duology, Nina, "sprattle"
In Fjerda Nina was waylaid on the road. Before, she would've simply dropped the man's heart rate until he couldn't attack, but her new powers didn't lend themselves to such peaceful solutions. They *would* let her leave him conscious to hear her out - but then again, a message of peace and tolerance might sound unconvincing from a woman who'd just surrounded you with walking corpses. Her power over life had never been unnatural; the power over death was no more so, but try telling that to a bigot. Better avoid making her job harder. She kicked him in the ankle.
