150 words exactly, because spiritually this is more like a drabble than anything else and I felt like paring it down to a nice multiple of 10. It was that or pad it out to 200 words, which... why dilute it, right?
GYWO Yahtzee, "strong."
The silhouettes of the standing stones cut a piece out of the moon. The Otherworldy Gate will open at midnight, but until then it's dark. So dark. Sheena smells freshly trampled grass and, faintly, the sea.
Might be the last time she sees outside for a while, or ever. Depends if the Papal Knights take her or Kuchinawa has dibs. She's gotta hold onto this: the wind in her hair, the clank of all their plate mail. A circle of stones behind her, holding her friends. In front of her, a circle of spears, and the death she deserves.
The Chief taught her to be strong. She steps forward.
How could she have thought tonight was dark, with the moon so bright? She takes another step, hands spread. She'll protect Lloyd and Colette, face justice calmly. There are worse places to die.
Cursing under his breath, Zelos hauls her back.
